Steps

45 mins
  1. 1

Take rice flour, rava and salt in a utensil and add enough water to make a pouring (thin) batter. Set aside for 30 - 45 minutes until the rava is soaked.

  2. 2

Add crushed cumin, finely chopped onions, green chillies and coriander to the batter. Finely grated carrot can also be added (optional).

  3. 3

Heat non-stick dosa pan and stir the batter well before pouring each dosa so that the rava does not settle at the bottom of the utensil. Use a small bowl to pour the batter as shown in the picture.

  4. 4

Drizzle oil. Adjust the flame, turn the dosa over when brown. Let it cook for couple of minutes. You may need 2 pans to prepare the dosas quicker. Serve with coconut chutney.

Watching my aunt and mom cook, my first cooking experiments began with making an omelet. I had forgotten to light the stove! My mom is an awesome cook and so my interest for cooking grew. Collecting, sharing recipes, cooking has always been a pleasure. My mom-in-law is another great cook and my husband, a hard core foodie... So there you go - it's a great motivation to learn and excel!
