  1. 2 CupsUrad Moong Toor Equal amounts of , &
  2. 1 TeaspoonKosher Salt
  3. 1 TeaspoonCorriander Powder
  4. 1 TeaspoonChilli Powder
  5. 1 TeaspoonCumin Powder
  6. 1/2 TeaspoonTumeric Powder
  7. 1/4 CupOlive Oil
  8. 1/2 TeaspoonCumin Seeds
  9. 1Onion Medium chopped
  10. 1 TablespoonChopped Garlic
  11. 1 TablespoonChopped Ginger
  12. 16 OuncesTamatoes Chopped
  13. 5Green Chillies Chopped
  14. 1/2 Cupcilantro freshly chopped

  1. 1

    Soak Lentils in Cold Water 10 mts. Rinse in cold water. Boild 4 cups water in a 5 Qts. Pot. Add Lentils, add all the dry spices (Group 1). Bring it to a boil and cook 10 mts. medium heat. Turn off heat after 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    In a seperate pan add oil. Add cumin seed cook 1 min. Add onions and cook until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger. Cook 1 imn. Add Chopped Tamatoes and cook until gracy becomes thick.

  3. 3

    Add this sauce lentils and garnish with fresh green chillies and cilantro and serve.

Born in India and now living in Chicago. Food is celebration for me. Indian foods are not only great in taste but have a health factor related to it. Indian food and spices are not only tasty and flavorful; they also add a lot of benefits to our health. I have tried to take advantage of herbs and spices and infuse the American and Italian lcuisine. It is sort of East meets West. My dishes are easy to make and everyone can do it. Just come on and join me in my kitchen. We will have a lot fun!I use a unique mixture of Ginger, Garlic and Tumeric (in equal parts) with peppers, like long chilli spicy, habernero even Ghost peppers. It is potent and healthy.Dont't live to Eat, Eat to Live. Worked at Chefluciano's Restuarant in Chicago for 30 years. Now I am retired.
