Bread cones to stuff up!

Make these ahead and freeze them. Stuff up with veg/non veg stir fries with sauces to pack your kid's snack boxes. Just take care to keep the filling as dry as possible :)
Bread cones to stuff up!
Make these ahead and freeze them. Stuff up with veg/non veg stir fries with sauces to pack your kid's snack boxes. Just take care to keep the filling as dry as possible :)
Steps
- 1
In a stand mixer: put the dry ingredients together and combine.
- 2
Drizzle in water at speed 2, till 3/4th of the water gets used up
- 3
Increase speed to 4 and see how your dough is. If the mixer jumps, drizzle in the rest of the water and keep at it for 5 more minutes.
- 4
The dough should be worked for around 8 - 10 minutes.
- 5
Once done, the dough should have a satiny touch.
- 6
Shape the dough into a ball and keep in an oiled bowl in the warmest area of your kitchen covered with a damp towel.
- 7
After an hour and a half, turn the dough on to a floured surface, knock the air out and shape into long bands.
- 8
For the cone: cut cones of desired shape out of chart paper and cover with aluminium foil. Oil the outside of the foil lightly and coil the long bands of dough around them. Keep these in room temperature for another half an hour to proof further.
- 9
Check the top of the cone. It should be closed, else you might end up with an open point cone after baking. Brush the cones with egg wash and Bake the cones at 180 degree for 15 - 20 minutes or until they are golden brown in colour.
- 10
Once out of oven, take care to loosen the cone out and cool further.
