Microwave the onion and carrot together for 1½ minutes. Add the celery and microwave for another 1½ minutes.

Put the microwaved vegetables in a lidded pan, well sprayed with Spray2Cook, on a medium heat for a minute.Stir regularly to ensure nothing sticks.

Add the (hot) stock. Add the baked beans, plum tomatoes, herbs, pepper and garlic powder then turn up the heat. Bring to boil then simmer for 4 minutes.

Add the pasta and return to a simmer for 12 minutes. Check the pasta is cooked to you liking.

Add the lettuce and swirl it around until it wilts, remove the pan from the heat and serve.
