For those like minded people who doesnt like cocunut in everything but love ulli curry. This can also be used as the base curry for egg curry.

For those like minded people who doesnt like cocunut in everything but love ulli curry. This can also be used as the base curry for egg curry.
Steps

Pour the oil, splutter poppy seeds when oil gets hot. Add the Onions and Ginger chopped and saute.

Add Chopped garlic, Green Chillies, Close the pan/vessel with a lid and let the onion cook in low flame/temparature till it turns light golden colour.

Now add water enough to sink the onions and close the lid and heat in low flame so that the onion gets cooked.

Add Chilli powder, Coriander powder and turmeric powder (adjust the amount depending on how spicy u need it)

Add the Tomatoes and Curry leaves now and allow it to get cooked well in low flame.

Now, the secret ingredient. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon sugar to the cooked dish and mix well.

Onion curry can be served with Appam, Chappathi etc..

Boiled eggs can be added after the dish is ready.
