Steps
- 1
In a large mixing bowl combine yeast and warm water.Stir it and wait for 5 minutes or until yeast dissolved and foamy.
- 2
Add flour, olive oil, salt and sugar, mix well, knead for about 5 minutes.Add 1/4 cup flour if dough is too wet. The dough should be smooth and elastic.
- 3
Shape the dough into a ball and keep it inside a bowl coated lightly with olive oil. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and keep them to rise in a warm environment.
- 4
By about 1-2 hours the dough will be double in size.Punch down the dough to release the air. Roll it into a ball and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Preheat the oven at 200C and prepare the pizza pan by this time.
- 5
Grease and dust the pizza pan with olive oil and flour.
- 6
Prepare the pizza toppings
- 7
After 15 minutes, flatten the dough ball into a circle by stretching the dough with hands till the inside of the pan is fully covered. Lift the edge of the dough by pinching it up to create a lip around the edges.
- 8
Using a fork prick the surface of the dough to prevent bubbling while baking and brush some olive oil to avoid the filling making the crust soggy. Let it sit for 15 minutes before adding toppings.
- 9
Top with your favourite toppings and bake for 12-15 mins.
- 10
Slice hot pizza and serve immediately.
