This is a traditional sweet snack in kerala, especially in center malabar.It is simple and tasty.

This is a traditional sweet snack in kerala, especially in center malabar.It is simple and tasty.
Steps

Boil 2 cup of water in a sauce pan adding salt.

When it is boil, reduce the flame add rice flour and mix it evenly with a spoon.Keep it covered for a minute.Switch off the flame.

When the dough still warm, knead it well with your hands, dipping your hands in slightly beaten egg while kneading.

Make lemon sized balls from the kneaded dough.

Roll the balls to get thin round shape (refer photo)using chapatti press.

Mix all the ingredients for filling and keep aside.

Keep rice chapatti on poovada mold and place the filling in the center and mold it(as shown in the photo)

Deep fry the molded poovada until golden brown.

Serve poovada with tea or coffee.
