Wash the chicken well and place it in a pot. Add the oil and turn on the stove.

Peel and chop the onion (coarsely) and the garlic.

Add them to the pot along with the bay leaf, allspice, and salt and pepper.

Stir once, do not sauté, and then add the vinegar or wine.

If using a pressure cooker, add the potatoes, cover with water, and cook for 20 minutes. If using a regular pot, cover with water, cook for 45 minutes, then add the potatoes and a little more water if needed, and cook until they soften, about 15 minutes.

The dish should have a little sauce left (the potatoes always absorb the sauce after cooking, as does rice).

At this point, add the lemon juice. Shake the pot to distribute it evenly and serve. Enjoy your meal.
