Place the oil with 500gr of sugar in a pot. Stir as the sugar melts and goldens. 

Put the water in a bowl and stir in the rest of the sugar and the corn starch, until they dissolve.

When it starts to foam, add the water. Stir constantly until it thickens because it sticks easily. 

In the end, add the almonds. 

Put the halva in a wet pan and smooth the top so it is level, with a spoon or spatula. Let it cool.
