Ingredients

  • 1 kgchickpeas (skinned)
  • 1large onion cut into pieces
  • 1large potato cut into cubes
  • 1carrot cut into cubes
  • 1large bunch of spinach (or frozen spinach)
  • 1 tbsptomato paste
  • 1/2 tspsugar
  • 1 cupgrated tomato (either fresh or tomato passata)
  • 1little olive oil
  • salt, pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the chickpeas overnight. On the next day boil them as they are over strong heat and skim off the foam with a sifter ladle.

  2. 2

    Add all the ingredients except the spinach and the pepper. 

  3. 3

    When they are almost done, add the spinach and when everything is cooked, add the pepper.
