At first, take a full medium sized bowl of toor daal, wash it, and put it into a cooker directly.

Add some water to cook daal. At the same time add chopped tomatoes in daal, add 1/2 tsf of turmeric powder

Close the lid of cooker and put it on gas for cooking daal. Make about 2-3 whistles of cooker. Then turn off the gas.

When pressure released, pick up the lid of cooker and add 1 tsf of red chillies powder in daal, add salt as per taste and mix it very well by crushing the daal.

Add cut green coriander leaves in daal

Put a pan on gas. Add some edible oil about 2-3 table spoon full for tadka.

Add jeera, mustard seeds both about 1-1 teaspoon. And add garlic paste about 2-3 teaspoon and chopped one onion in tadka. Then add chilli flakes.

Then add that daal mixture in this tadka. Stir well. Add some hot water for making daal quite loose. Stir well. Make it boil for 5 mints. Turn off the gas.

Your tomato daal is ready. Serve it with chapati, paratha or steamed rice.
