Chicken Siomay Soup + Fried Wontons from One Meat Mixture, Simple ^^

This is my first time making siomay soup because my 2-year-old loves it. Whenever we eat bakso in Salatiga, they always enjoy the siomay soup. So, I thought of making it myself, especially since homemade doesn't use MSG.
I use 3/4 of the meat for siomay and 1/4 for fried wontons, which are my older child's favorite. Haha, to be fair.
Making it is actually easy. The time-consuming part is filling and sealing them, especially since I do it all alone in the kitchen. Haha, that's the art of being a housewife >.<

Steps
- 1
Mix all the siomay filling ingredients until well combined.
- 2
Spoon the filling into the siomay wrappers and fold. You'll end up with a lot, enough to share with mom, haha.
- 3
Sprinkle with carrot before steaming. Steam for about 30 minutes. I use a regular pan and grease it first to prevent sticking. I also brush the tops of the siomay with oil to keep them from drying out.
- 4
With the leftover filling, I make fried wontons. I fill them generously, and they're delicious!
- 5
For the soup: Sauté the garlic in oil until fragrant, then add the chicken broth and all the seasonings. Taste and adjust as needed. Five minutes before serving, add the green onions. Serve with fried shallots on top. ;)

This makes a lot...
Once it's cooked, everyone digs in. Haha.
(It seems my fried wontons got a bit burnt... #embarrassed), total amateur.
