Ingredients

  1. 1medium sized yam
  2. 6red peppers
  3. 2yellow chilli peppers
  4. Seasoning of choice
  5. 2onions
  6. 3 gramscinnamon
  7. Little spring onions
  8. 3 gramsground black pepper
  9. Some salt
  10. Very little Palm oil
  11. leavesMint
  12. 1.5 litreswater

Steps

  1. 1

    Marinate catfish with ground black pepper,seasoning some salt with cinnamon for 2 or more hours.Wash, peel, slice yam,add some water,put on fire to boil

  2. 2

    Blend the red peppers and 1 yellow chilli pepper with 1 onion pour blended mixture into the pot of yam

  3. 3

    Pour the marinated fish and contents into the yam pot, let everything boil together and cook very well

  4. 4

    Check for salt, you could add a little more depending on what you like, add sliced onions,after 2 mins add very little mint leaves put off the fire.

    Garnish with the remaining yellow pepper, and few mint leaves with very little spring onions,and drizzle a little Palm oil on the boiled yam.

    Enjoy with any drink of choice but water is preferable from experience.

  7. 7

    Kindly note that this is my recipe, there are a lot of pepper soup spices in Nigeria, but I needed a different taste that's why I used the mint leaves and cinnamon.
