Semolina or Suji is an amazing flavourful ingredient that can be used for some instantly made goodies like Appe, Cherlas, Dhokla, Dhokla Appe etc.
And with some chopped Vegetables, it becomes even more presentable and perfect idea for Breakfast, Tiffin box or even an afterschool Snack.

Ingredients

18 minutes
6 servings
  1. for the suji dhokla appe batter.... we need
  2. 1 1/2 cupsSemolina or suji
  3. 3/4 cupSour curd
  4. 1/4 cupWater
  5. as per taste Salt
  6. 1 tbspOil
  7. 2 pinchesAsafoetida
  8. 1 tbspGinger grated
  9. 1 tbspGreen chillies finely chopped
  10. 2 tbspCoriander leaves finely chopped
  11. 1 tbspCoriander seeds crushed
  12. for the tempering we need
  13. as required Curry leaves few
  14. 2-3 tbspOil
  15. 4Dry red chillies
  16. 2 tbspSesame seeds
  17. 1/2 cupGrated fresh coconut
  18. 1 tbspBlack mustard seeds
  19. 2 tbspEno fruit salt

Steps

  1. 1

    Make a thick lump free batter with all the ingredients listed under it.

  2. 2

    Keep it covered for 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    After 15 minutes, mix in the eno fruit salt in the batter and give it a light stir.

  4. 4

    Pour a tablespoon of the batter in each groove of the appam patra.

    Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes for each batch.

  6. 6

    After done, it's time for the tempering.

  7. 7

    Heat oil and add curry leaves and mustard seeds at first.

  8. 8

    After the seeds crackle, add the dry red chillies.

  9. 9

    Now pour this tempering on the prepared dhokla appe and garnish with grated coconut and sesame seeds.
