Originating from Buffalo, New York, 'Buffalo wings' are known for their spicy, tangy, and flavorful taste. Traditionally, the wings are fried and then coated in hot sauce. Here, we use an oven-baked method instead of frying, making them lighter and lower in calories!
【Tips】
1. If you want to reduce the oil, you can omit the butter in the hot sauce or replace it with olive oil.
2. These wings have a satisfying tangy and spicy flavor. Since kids will be eating them, honey is added to balance the tanginess, but traditional recipes do not include honey.

Ingredients

  1. 12chicken wings, split
  2. 【Marinade】
  3. 1 tablespoonpaprika
  4. 1 tablespoongarlic granules (or garlic powder)
  5. 1 teaspoonsalt
  6. 1 teaspooncoarsely ground black pepper
  7. 1 tablespoonwhite wine
  8. 1/3 cupall-purpose flour (about 40 grams)
  9. 【Hot Sauce】
  10. 3 tablespoonsbutter (about 40 grams)
  11. 1 teaspoonminced garlic
  12. 2 tablespoonsTabasco
  13. 2 tablespoonsketchup
  14. 1 teaspoonhoney
  15. 1 teaspooncoarsely ground black pepper
  16. 1 teaspoonwhite wine

Steps

60 minutes
  1. 1

    Place the chicken wings in a large resealable bag (or container) and add all the marinade ingredients except the flour.

    Seal the bag and shake to mix well. Marinate for about half an hour.

    Add the flour, reseal the bag, and shake to mix well again.

    Bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for half an hour.

    Melt the butter in a pan, then add all the other hot sauce ingredients and mix well.

    Coat the baked wings evenly with the hot sauce and serve.
