I can't say the French words for this, but hubby says they translate to...Nuns farts. No matter what they're called, they are so good! :nod :chihuahua

So many of my friends say they can't make pastry, I say they haven't tried very hard. Once you can make a base pastry you enter the world of being able to make something out of nothing Arty Greig -

Puff Pastry Puff Pastry
This originally started with me wanting to make arlettes and palmiers but not really being motivated to buy puff pastry from the store. I got a day off work and decided to give it a try. It turns out to be a lot of fun to do and you get a much better pastry than the store bought one.You definitely need a french rolling pin for working the butter. Whether or not you need a pastry scrape depends on how hot your kitchen is. It's been a chilli winter for me so I didn't actually use mine.Puffy pastry is best used the day you make it but you can keep it in a Tupperware container for a few days in the fridge. Chris Jordan -

Needed a good, can't mess up pastry that was versatile and easy to remember so I googled it and found this on instructables.com. I've tweaked it somewhat but wished to credit the source as this is not originally my recipe. I love it, the hubby loves it, enjoy! Rebecca -

Grammie's Pastry Grammie's Pastry
My grandmother (grammie) taught me how to make pastry when I was little. Even though she can't make it anymore, everytime I make some for an apple pie, I always remember us making it together. She was taught the recipe by her mom so it is a family thing. Hope you enjoy! This makes enough for about 2 big pies dessert or dinner. It also stores in the freezer for later up to 2 months. katkitty -
Fried Pastries Just Like Canadian "BeaverTails" Fried Pastries Just Like Canadian "BeaverTails"
I used to have these often when I lived in Canada, and wanted to come up with a way to make them at home. I researched recipes online and rearranged them to make my own version. The kneading process can be a bit challenging but my tip is to just keep on going! I haven't given this a try, but if you have a bread machine at home, it might come in handy.*This dough only requires one proofing. Recipe by Kourin cookpad.japan -
Cherry pastries Cherry pastries
I've recently started shopping online at thrive market this is where I got the cherry spread there are chunks of cherry in the spread like peach preserves. I have celiac's and a few autoimmune diseases so I'm always looking for a organic glf nf ef df sf sulfate free barely and they free products that taste great. This arrived a week ago and was very excited to make a cherry pastry after I tasted the spread with a spoon, the taste sent me back to my childhood where my grandmother canned her own cherries she had a huge cherry tree in her yardIt's very tart and sweet I used some homemade glaze to cut down the tart a bit and a puff pastry I thought it would be cute. kristielynne40 -
