Ingredients

  • 1 cupwhole black urad dal
  • 1/4 cupsmall rajma
  • 1 tspcream
  • 2 tspbutter
  • 2bay leaves
  • 1big cardamon
  • 1 tea spooncumin seeds
  • 2medium onion chopped
  • 2medium tomatoes chopped
  • 1/2 inchginger
  • 1green chilli chopped
  • 5-6cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoonred chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoongaram masala
  • to tastesalt
  • pinchheeng (asafeoteda)
  • For garnish -
  • 1 tablespooncream
  • as neededgreen coriander chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the black dal and rajma for overnight. Cook it in pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles.

  2. 2

    Heat butter in a pan, add jeera, bay leaves, and cardamom, add hing when they crackle, add chopped onion paste, stir for 2 minutes, add garlic ginger paste, stir till the butter gets removed from the paste.

  3. 3

    Add red chilli, turmeric and garam masala powder, stir, add chopped onions, stir and cove with alid till the tomatoes get cooked, remove lid add the boiled dal, salt to taste and boil for 10 minutes, add cream cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and cream and serve hot with pulao.
