
Ms. Kipper's Roasted Tomato-Basil Soup

drain cans of whole tomatoes.. AND RESERVE LIQUID....will need liquid later.... preheat oven to 450°????

cover cookie sheet with foil...,spray cookie sheet with non-stick spray. arrange whole tomatoes in single layer. I sprinkle with brown sugar, salt, pepper, minced onions, and sprinkle with garlic powder... cook for about 25-30 minutes... the smell is awesome.... liquid should evaporate and tomatoes begin to color...

in crockpot you should have tomatoes mixture, and all other spices.... tomatoes with chili....minced celery..EXCEPT EVAPORATED MILK...

I use my hand held blender once I put them in my crockpot and the reserved liquid.....you will need the liquid to puree... IF YOU DONT HAVE A HAND HELD.. PUT IN BLENDER AND PUREE.

blend well ..... cover and cook on low for 8 hrs or 4 hrs on high....

add EVAPORATED MILK.... and s&p to taste... cook for another hour on high..
