Sweet BBQ Chicken Strips and Fries
Sweet BBQ Chicken Strips and Fries
Steps
- 1
1. Cut your chicken into whatever size piece you want, I use small strips.
- 2
Next put the chicken into a bowl suitable for the amount of chicken you want, and then add a quarter cup of soy sauce, 2-3 tsp honey, and half a cup of sweet chilli sauce. Leave to marinade for an hour minimum covered In the fridge. (used this for 1 breast)
- 3
Prepare your fries, peel and cut your potatoes into French fry shape, then cover and set in freezer for 2-3 hours.
- 4
Now the waiting is done, time to get into action. Get a deep pan or saucepan and pour 2-3cm of oil, heat it up till its quite hot if you put your hand over, won't burn though. Get your frozen fries out of the freezer (If they are a little orange, don't worry, they still taste and look the same, just make sure you get them in the oil quick, but don't rush)
- 5
Add the fries small handful by handful, if the oil is bubbling all is going well.
- 6
Now get your marinade out of the fridge and add a dash of oil to a pan, add all the chicken breast including the marinade, helps keep flavor as you cook. Remember to turn the chicken.
- 7
Now all of your items should be in process of cooking, add a little salt and pepper to the fries, only a little, and add a pinch of Chinese five spice to the chicken. Make sure you stir after adding to spread the seasoning fairly. (Optional)
- 8
When you fries feel crispy and done, add them onto a plate with kitchen paper to drain the oil, I recommend using a spoon with holes in. Not sure of the name, lol.
- 9
Add your chicken to a plate, and then add the fries with a little salt.
- 10
Enjoy! Oh and also, this is surprisingly easy to make, anyone can cook if you put effort into it. I'll try to add an updated version with photo when I next cook.
