1 canblack eyed peas, drained and rinsed
2 slicebacon, cut into small peaces
2 tbspreserved bacon fat or olive oil
1/2 cupred onion
1 clovecrushed garlic
1or 2 seeded and diced jalapenos
1salt and pepper to taste

Cut up bacon and cook in pan till crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.

Keep about 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat for cooking the onions, garlic, and jalapenos.

After veggies are cooked add in black eyed peas. Stir tell heated. And in the reserved bacon and salt and pepper.
