Steps

80 minutes
  1. 1

Dissolve the yeast and a little amount of sugar in warm water..Mix and allow to stand for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This kickstarts the rising process

  2. 2

Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and the yeast combo. Then gradually add water, preferably warm until a medium consistency is achieved, not too watery to easily slide through your fingers.

  3. 3

Cover the batter with a kitchen towel or cling film and keep in a warm place for at least 45 minutes..

  4. 4

The batter should have doubled in size with bubbles formed..Slightly beat the batter to make it stretchy.

  5. 5

Place a pot on medium heat and add oil about 3 inches. Scoop the batter with your hand or an ice cream scoop. The batter should float on the oil surface if the oil is hot enough.Continue frying and reduce the heat if the puff puff is getting brown too quickly.

  6. 6

Drain excess oil by placing puff puff in a colander.Enjoy with a refreshing drink.
