Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 4 cupapple cider vinegar
  2. 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 4 cuphot water
  4. 1/2 cupTabasco sauce
  5. 3 lbpork shoulder

Steps

    In a large bowl, combine the apple cider vinegar, sugar, hot water, and Tabasco sauce.

  2. 2

    Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Pour the marinade over the pork, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

  4. 4

    Preheat the oven to 450°F.

  5. 5

    Remove the pork from the marinade and place in a baking pan.

  6. 6

    Save the marinade.

  7. 7

    Roast the pork until browned, about 1 hour.

  8. 8

    Reduce the oven temperature to 300°F.

  9. 9

    Pour some of the reserved marinade over the pork.

  10. 10

    Cover and slow roast for an additional 2 hours, or until the meat pulls away from the bones easily.

  11. 11

    Pull the pork apart into long shreds using 2 forks.

  12. 12

    *You can also prepare this in a slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4.*

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
