  • Great Northern Beans
  • 1 lbGreat Northern Beans
  • 1each Smoked Hamhock
  • 32 ozchicken stock
  • 1each onion, chopped
  • 1 tbspground black pepper
  • 3each garlic cloves
  • 1 tspground cumin
  • 2 dashRed Pepper Flakes
  • 2 tbspbrown sugar
  • 2 tbspButter

Steps

  1. 1

    Place cleaned beans in the crock pot

  2. 2

    Place butter and spices into the crock pot

  3. 3

    Pour chicken stock over beans if not about 2 inches over the beans add water to that level

  4. 4

    Add in ham hock

  5. 5

    Turn on crock pot to high

  6. 6

    Cover and cook for approximately 6 hours or until beans are at desired doneness.
