Steps
- 1
TIP : I don't use a commercial jalapeno spice mix. I use pure jalapeno powder. If you have trouble finding it, here is a recipe for making your own.

Combine all the ingredients except the nuts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Stir to combine.
- 3
In a separate bowl, add the nuts and the pour the butter mixture over top the nuts. Stir to coat the nuts completely.
- 4
Bring your smoker up to 250°F per the manufactures instructions and add some hickory wood chips.
- 5
Place the coated almonds and pecans on a small baking sheet and pop in the smoker for 30-40 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, remove the nuts from the smoker and give them a stir.
- 6
Remove from the smoker and let cool for 10 minutes. Add additional salt if needed. Serve to your BBQ guests.
