I always experiment with baking and this time I wanted different shaped mandazi rather than the always norm. This method doesn't use eggs nor milk but one can always include if desired

I always experiment with baking and this time I wanted different shaped mandazi rather than the always norm. This method doesn't use eggs nor milk but one can always include if desired

Steps

In a big bowl, Sieve the flour
- 2
Add baking powder, cardamon and sugar
- 3
Take a grater and grate the 'green' outside of the lemon(lemon rinds)

Mix with your fingers and add margarine. Mix then add water. N/b : you can also squeeze a little lemon juice in the mixture

Knead till soft, divide the dough into four and cover with a damp cloth for 20mins

Flatten out the dough on a chapati board and cut into desired shapes

Cover again for 15mins

Heat your oil and drop them in

Set aside to cool and serve with preferred beverage
