Ingredients

  1. 4 largeeggs
  2. 2 cupmilk
  3. 1 cupmaple syrup
  4. 1/4 tspsalt
  5. 1/4 tspshortening
  6. 1(9 inch) unbaked pie shell

Cooking Instructions

    Heat oven to 350° F.

  2. 2

    Beat eggs until frothy.

  3. 3

    Gradually beat in milk, maple syrup, and salt.

  4. 4

    Spread shortening in a thin layer over the bottom of the pie shell.

  5. 5

    Pour custard into the pie shell and place in the center of the oven.

  6. 6

    Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool pie to room temperature on a wire rack.

  8. 8

    Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before cutting and serving.

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
