Ingredients

20 minutes
4 persons
  1. 1-2 cupsidli batter
  2. 1onion Medium sized
  3. 2green chillies
  4. 1 sprigcurry leaves
  5. 1 teaspoonJeera / Cumin seeds
  6. Salt as per taste

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Take the idli batter in a bowl. Add to it, chopped onion, curry leaves and green chillies. Mix well.
    Add to the above mix, jeera and salt. Mix.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a kadai/shallow, small pan.
    Drop small dumplings of the above batter in oil. Deep fry these balls until they turn light brown colour. Remove from oil. Cool.

  3. 3

    Savor these tasty drops with your favorite chutney. These punukulu are a delight to eat, as these are crunchy outside and soft towards the core.
