Ingredients

  1. 1 CupBroken wheat (dalia)
  2. 3/4 cupsugar
  3. 2 tablespoonsalmonds
  4. 16-18Raisins
  5. 1 teaspooncardamom powder
  6. 2 cloves
  7. 1cinnamon stick
  8. 3/4 cupclarified butter
  9. 2 &1/2 cups water

  1. 1

    Soak the raisins in 1/2 cup water and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add the broken wheat and saute on a high flame till it turns pinkish brown.

  3. 3

    Add water and cook it on 12 whistles check the dalia cooked well all water evaporated
    Add sugar, cashews, raisins, cloves and cinnamon.

  4. 4

    The lapsi is ready when the ghee starts oozing out from the sides of the pan.
    Serve hot garnished with blanched almonds and sprinkle green cardamom powder.
