Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 1/2 tablespoonPearl millet
  2. 1 1/2 tablespoonRoasted Green gram
  3. 2 tablespoonJaggery
  4. 2 tablespoonClarified butter/ghee
  5. 1/2 teaspoonCardamom powder
  6. Dry fruits – Almonds, Raisins
  7. 1.5 cupswater

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Soak Pearl millet for about 3 hours and roasted green gram for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    After they get soaked, drain the water.

  3. 3

    Take water in a pressure cooker, add soaked pearl millet and green gram.

  4. 4

    Pressure cook for about ‘5’ whistles on low flame.

  5. 5

    Turn off the flame, keep aside. Let it cool.

  6. 6

    Now remove the lid, add 2 tablespoon of jaggery and mix it well.

  7. 7

    Heat clarified butter/ ghee in a shallow pan. Add almonds and raisins to it.

  8. 8

    Let them fry for 1 to 2 secs. Add this fried mix to the above prepared payasam.

  9. 9

    Stir well, add cardamom powder.

  10. 10

    Serve cold/at room temperature 🙂
