Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F
- 2
Open cans and pour beans into baking dish(make sure dish is wide and deep enough so the beans don't spill out of pan).
- 3
Add the white sugar, brown sugar and syrup(I usually add 2 tablespoons if not a bit more).
- 4
Add the chopped onions and green peppers.
- 5
Mix well(Now would be a good time to take a separate spoon and sample to ensure desired amount of sweetness. If not sweet enough add syrup according to personal preference.
- 6
Place sliced Bacon on top of beans(I usually place enough bacon to cover the top of the beans especially when making a big pan for a large gathering)
- 7
Place in oven and cook for 45 minutes or until bacon on top of beans are brown.
- 8
Serve warm! (Hint: The dish tastes even better after it has been cooked and allowed to blend with the other flavors overnight in the fridge! Just reheat and serve!)
