Steps

Cook penne in boiling salted water till tender; drain.

In saucepan, melt butter; blend in the flour, salt & pepper.

Add milk; cook & stir till thick & bubbly.

Add finely chopped onion and the cheese, cubed; stir until melted.

Mix cheese sauce with macaroni. Turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole.

Bake at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes, or till heated through.
