Blend crackers and butter, reserving 2/3 C for the topping. Firmly press remainder against bottom of 1½ quart casserole. Combine ham, rice, and onion. Pack lightly over crust. Scald milk, slowly add to eggs. Stir in cheese. Pour over ham mixture and sprinkle with crumbs. Bake 45 minutes at 350°F.
