Steps

20 mins
  1. 1

If using turkey, heat oil in a large sauce pan over medium-high heat, brown for 10 minutes. Break up the meat as it cooks. Remove turkey meat and set aside. Leave oil in the plan.

  2. 2

Chop onion, seed and chop green peppers, peel and slice carrots

  3. 3

Place onion, green peppers, and carrots into sauce pan, cook and stir for about 10 minutes, until onion is translucent and vegetables are tender.

  4. 4

Stir in chili powder, cumin and black pepper.

  5. 5

Pour in the diced tomatoes, frozen corn, black beans, garbanzo beans and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  6. 6

Place about 1 1/2 cups of the chili mixture into a food processor. Puree for 1 minute or until smooth.

  7. 7

Pour the puree back into the rest of the chili, add cooked turkey meat to mixture and simmer over medium-low heat
