Wash rice and dal.

Soak it for 5 min.

Take cooker.

Add ghee in it.

Put hing and jeera.

When it starts crackle add chopped onion in it.

When onion gets brown add puree in it..

When puree is done add all the masalas in it..

Keep stirring.

After stirring add tuar dal and rice in it.

Add water more than required.

As khichdi takes enough water.

Now cover the lid.

And pressure cook it.

After 2 whistles simmer the flame for 10 min.

After ten minutes off the flame.

After 5 min open the cooker and serve it with chopped coriander leaves.

For soup.it is the basic recipe as every one knows.

But in soup i have added carrot also.

Serve hot soup with khichdi and nimbu atchar.
