Soak black chana in water for 7-8 hrs. Clean them then cook them with some water in pressure cooker for one whistle. Open the lid and cook chana for another 20 minutes. Let it cool and dont throw the water. Meanwhile soak rice in water for half an hour. Finely grind tomatoes, coriander leaves, pudhina, ginger and green chilli. Take a pan and add oil, cloves and dalchine.

After sometime add hing and the grinded mixture. Now add coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli powder and jeera powder. mix well, till oil leaves the mixture. Now add rice and chana. Now add the water which was kept aside, salt and garam masala. Cook till it boils. Cook on low flame till the chana becomes soft.
Chana pulav is ready. Serve with raita.
