Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 800 gramsbeef cubed
  2. 800 gramsonion
  3. 5 clovegarlic
  4. 200 mlred wine (cabernet sauvignon)
  5. 5juniper berries
  6. 2bay leafs
  7. 1 tspwhole black pepper
  8. 1salt to taste
  9. 1 tspmajoran
  10. 1 tspthyme
  11. 1 tbspmustard
  12. 2 tbsppowdered red paprica (hot if you like spicy)
  13. 1 tsptomato concentrate
  14. 2 tbsppork fat or similar
  15. 1 literbeef stock (soup)
  16. 2 tbspsour cream (optional)

Steps

3 hours
  1. 1

    Chop onion fairly small, simmer on pork fat for 10 min, add red wine and simmer for another 10 min. Add meat and all the spices except red paprika. Add boiling beef stock and cook on low heat for 140 min, occasionaly stir.

  2. 2

    Add red paprica and 5 min. before end of cooking add sour cream (if you like, It's not a must).

  3. 3

    Serve as a "stand alone dish" with white bread or serve with plain cooked potatos or potato puree, pasta is allso an option.
