Fratta for da heart (spinach and turkey)
Great for breakfast brunch or even dinner. And a cool substitute for a rich quiche with the same taste impact. Your tastebuds and heart will thank you for this dish.
Steps
- 1
Preheat oven 400°F
- 2
Brown ground turkey on stovetop. After browned, add chopped onions.
- 3
Once onions cooked down, add frozen spinach. Season to taste with salt pepper and Mrs. Dash. Other seasonings can be added to taste to substitute huge use of salt.
- 4
Cover and let simmer until spinach has cooked with the turkey onion mix
- 5
In a separate bowl, mix oat bran, egg white, and yogurt together. Should be a loose cookie consistancy. Place this mixture (crust) at the bottom of a greased 9" spring form pan. Spread it to cover entire bottom.
- 6
Pour turkey spinach mixture into same spring form pan directly over oat bran mixture.
- 7
Now layer the shredded cheese over turkey spinach mixture.
- 8
In a different bowl, mix Eggbeaters, eggs, and 1/2&1/2. Though it can be mixed by hand, mixing with a electric beater will make this custard lighter. Add salt and pepper to taste into egg mixture
- 9
Pour the egg mix over the cheese and spinach turkey mixture. Place in preheated oven and let cook for 45 minutes or until custard has firmly set.
