Ingredients

  • Cookie
  • 2 cupgranulated sugar
  • 1 cupbutter flavored shortening
  • 2 tspbaking powder
  • 3 tspYour choice of flavored extracts (vanilla, orange, lemon, etc.)
  • 4 eachWhole large eggs
  • 6 cupAll purpose flour
  • Icing
  • 1 cuppowdered sugar
  • 4 tbspwhole milk
  • 4 tbsplight corn syrup
  • 2 tspextract(use whatever flavor used in cookie)

Steps

    Preheat oven to 350

  2. 2

    In a large bowl cream shortening and sugar til fluffy

  3. 3

    Add baking powder and extract

  4. 4

    Add eggs one at a time mixing slightly after each addition

  5. 5

    Slowly add flour and combine til a soft dough forms

  6. 6

    Let dough sit for 5 minutes

  7. 7

    Roll out on a lightly floured surface (1/4 in thick) And cut using cookie cutters, if available.

  8. 8

    Place on parchment lined pan and bake in preheated oven for 8-10 min til bottoms are lightly browned

    To prepare icing:

    Mix all ingredients together til incorporated with no lumps

  11. 11

    Dip cookies in icing and scrape off excess

  12. 12

    Other options: Use a brush and paint on icing
