Ingredients

  • Oatmeal mixture
  • 1 1/4 cupboiling water
  • 1 cupold fashioned Oatmeal
  • Creamed Ingredients
  • 1 cupwhite sugar
  • 1 cupbrown sugar
  • 1 stickbutter
  • 2eggs
  • Dry Sifted ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cupflour
  • 1 tspcinnamon
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 4
  • 1/2 tspvanilla
  • FROSTING
  • 6 tbspmelted butter
  • 2/3 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/4 cupcream
  • 1 cupmoist coconut
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cupchopped nuts

Steps

  1. 1

    Pour boiling water over Oatmeal and let stand

  2. 2

    Cream together

  3. 3

    Sift

  4. 4

    Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients

  5. 5

    Add Oatmeal mixture to the batter

  6. 6

    Bake 325 for 30 minutes

  7. 7

    FROSTING: combine and spread over warm cake. Brown lightly under broiler
