  1. Oatmeal mixture
  2. 1 1/4 cupboiling water
  3. 1 cupold fashioned Oatmeal
  4. Creamed Ingredients
  5. 1 cupwhite sugar
  6. 1 cupbrown sugar
  7. 1 stickbutter
  8. 2eggs
  9. Dry Sifted ingredients
  10. 1 1/3 cupflour
  11. 1 tspcinnamon
  12. 1 tspbaking soda
  13. 1/2 tspsalt
  14. 4
  15. 1/2 tspvanilla
  16. FROSTING
  17. 6 tbspmelted butter
  18. 2/3 cupbrown sugar
  19. 1/4 cupcream
  20. 1 cupmoist coconut
  21. 1/2 tsp vanilla
  22. 3/4 cupchopped nuts

Steps

  1. 1

    Pour boiling water over Oatmeal and let stand

  2. 2

    Cream together

  3. 3

    Sift

  4. 4

    Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients

  5. 5

    Add Oatmeal mixture to the batter

  6. 6

    Bake 325 for 30 minutes

  7. 7

    FROSTING: combine and spread over warm cake. Brown lightly under broiler
