
Golden Corn Bread

This was adapted from the Shonkwiler Family Cookbook. The recipe originally came from Nellie Shonkwiler Crisp. I have made a few modifications, but for the most part it is as she made it.

a10 inch iron skillet can also be substituted for the baking pan

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 450°F

Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl

Add milk, egg and shortening to bowl
- 4
Beat until batter is smooth
- 5
Bake in greased 8 inch pan and bake for 20-25 min. Or pour into muffin pans and bake for 15-20 min.
