Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 1/2 tspsalt
  2. 1/2 cupYellow corn meal
  3. 1/2 cupwhite corn meal
  4. 1 cupmilk
  5. 1 cupall-purpose flour
  6. 1 eacheggs
  7. 3/4 cupsugar
  8. 1/4 cupshortening
  9. 4 tspbaking powder

Steps

    Preheat oven to 450°F

  2. 2

    Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl

  3. 3

    Add milk, egg and shortening to bowl

  4. 4

    Beat until batter is smooth

  5. 5

    Bake in greased 8 inch pan and bake for 20-25 min. Or pour into muffin pans and bake for 15-20 min.
