Cream the butter with sugar.gradually beat in the eggs,adding a little flour if the mixture begins to curdle

Sift the flour with salt and baking powder and stir into the pudding mixture with enough milk to give it a soft dropping consistency

Spoon the mixture into a greased pudding basin, cover with foil and secure with sting

Put the pudding into a perforated part of a steamer,or a plate in the saucepan of boiling water.the water should come up halfway up the side of that basin

Steam the pudding over gently summering water for 1¹/²-2hrs

Leave for 5 min at room temp to firm up

Serve with strawberry sauce
