Ingredients

  1. 12Habanero Pods
  2. 1 1/2 cupApple Vinegar
  3. 3 tbspBrown Sugar
  4. 8Garlic Cloves
  5. 1 1/2 ozBrandy or Rum
  6. 1Cinnamon Stick
  7. 1 1/2 ozHoney
  8. 1Lemon
  9. 1 tspSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Put a glass bottle in hot water and boil for about 25 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cut habaneros in half. Remove seeds (optional)

  3. 3

    Peel and crush garlic

  4. 4

    In a bowl, mix brown sugar, honey and liquor. Stir until sugar is dissolved

  5. 5

    Stir in garlic and habaneros until well coated. Allow to marinade while heating oven to 400°F.

  6. 6

    Put wax paper on a cookie sheet. Put habaneros and garlic on wax paper. Keep the marinade for later. Place cookie sheet in oven for 10 to 15 minutes until browned.

  7. 7

    Put vinegar, marinade, salt, habaneros and garlic into a blender. Blend for about a minute on high or until it is your desired consistency.

  8. 8

    Put this mixture in a sauce pan with the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 to 10 minutes. Add the juice from the lemon.

  9. 9

    Fill the hot glass bottle with the sauce. Stand the full glass bottle upside-down until cooled.
