Get seasoned ground meat (kibbeh or kofta mix) from the butcher. Grease a baking dish with oil, shape the meat into small patties, and arrange them in the dish. Bake or pan-fry until cooked through.

Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Sauté in 1 tablespoon of oil until they soften.

Peel and finely chop the tomatoes. Add them to the onions along with the tomato paste, salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Cover and simmer until the tomatoes break down and the sauce thickens.

Place the cooked meat patties on a serving platter. Pour the tomato and onion sauce over them, and garnish with chopped parsley.
