Ingredients

  1. 1Raw mango
  2. 100 gmspowdered jaggery
  3. 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
  4. 1/2 teaspoonurad dal
  5. 1/2 teaspoonFenugreek
  6. 1/2 teaspoonjeera
  7. 4Red chillies broken
  8. 1 spingCurry leaves
  9. 1/4 teaspoonAsafoetida
  10. 1/2 teaspoonSalt
  11. 1/2 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  12. 50 mlGingelly oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut raw mango into 1 inch pieces

  2. 2

    Heat gingelly oil in a kadai and add mustardseeds

  3. 3

    Once they splutter add urad dal,fenugreek,red chillies, asafoetida,jeera,curry leaves and saute till urad dal turns brown

  4. 4

    Then add the raw mango pieces,salt and turmeric powder

  5. 5

    Once half cooked add the Jaggery and simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve as an accompaniment for any south indian variety rice
