This is a stable meal for many blsck South African. It reminds of the food my mom used to prepare for our trip to my maternal granny. it was always accompiened by grilled chicken, a feast!!!
IDOMBOLO (STEAMED PUDDING)
This is a stable meal for many blsck South African. It reminds of the food my mom used to prepare for our trip to my maternal granny. it was always accompiened by grilled chicken, a feast!!!
Steps

sift flour into a bowl. add yeast, sugar, salt and parslry. mix well.

gradually add lukewarm waterto soft dough. knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

cover dough with oiledplastic wrap and leave in a warm place for 30-35 minutes.

knock dough down. place in an oiled bowl. cover with oiled plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size.

remove plastic and place bowl in a saucepan with boiling water. steam at low heat, without cover for 1 &1/2 hours or until done. water must be kept boiling and more water should be added as it evaporates.

cut into wedges and serve with stew.

YOU CAN ADD 250ML CANNED MIXED VEGETABLES TO DOUGH AND KNEAD IN GENTLY. IT BECOMES SO COLOURFUL
