Ingredients

  • 500 gmsChicken -
  • 2Chopped onion -
  • 1 tbspGinger garlic paste -
  • 2 tbspCoriander seeds -
  • 1 tspCumin seeds -
  • 4Crushed red chilli -
  • 3 Cloves
  • 3-4Black pepper -
  • 1 inch stickCinnamon -
  • 1Black cardamom -
  • 3-4Green cardamom -
  • 1 tbspSoaked poppy seeds -
  • 8-10Cashew nuts -
  • 8-10Almonds -
  • 2 tbspCoconut powder -
  • 2 tbspMint leaves -
  • 1/2 cupHung curd -
  • 1/2 cupClarified butter -
  • to tasteSalt -
  • 1 pinchTurmeric powder -
  • 2 tbspChopped coriander leaves -

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and marinate chicken with hung curd,crushed red chilli,ginger paste and salt.

  2. 2

    Keep aside for half an hour.

  3. 3

    Dry roast the cloves.cumin seeds,coriander seeds,black pepper,black and green cardamom and blend to make a powder.

  4. 4

    Heat clarified butter in a pan.

  5. 5

    Add onion and pinch of salt and saute for 3 - 4 hours

  6. 6

    Add roasted spices and a pinch turmeric powder and mix well.

  7. 7

    Grind the soaked poppy seeds,cashew nuts,almonds to make a paste e and mix in the chicken.

  8. 8

    Add mint leaves and coriander leaves and mix well.

  9. 9

    Add half cup of water and cover the lid.

  10. 10

    Cook in a low flame for 10 mins.

  11. 11

    Garnish with coriander leaves.
