Peel the yam

Get a clean bowl and cut the yam in desired shapes

Wash the yam

Get a clean pot add water and place it on heat

Add the yam and allow to boil for 20mins

Get clean mortar

Pick the yam from the pot into the mortar

Pound and sprinkle water at intervals for 5mins

Pounded yam is ready. Very smooth and fresh. It can be eaten with Egusi or beniseed soup
