I love a fluffy satisfying dumplings with my beef stew. This is a super easy way to make them.
They are cheap and delicious and very filling.
Steps

Weigh out the flour

Then add the fat.

And blitz it in the food processor. If you don't have a food processor you can rub the fat into the flour the old fashioned way.

Blitz till it looks like breadcrumbs then tip into a bowl. Add the salt and slowly add water a little at a time till it forms a dough. Careful not to add too much.

Divide into a few individual dumplings.

I cooked these on the top of a beef casserole that had already been in the slow cooker for a few hours. Make sure that there is plenty of liquid.

Push push them under the gravy so they are just floating. Turn the slow cooker back up to high and replace the lid

Cook for 45 min to an hour. The dumplings will puff up to become light and fluffy
