Ingredients

  1. 3 cupsugar
  2. 5eggs
  3. 2 tspvanilla extract
  4. 1 1/2 cupCrisco
  5. 2 tspvinegar
  6. 1/3 cupCocoa
  7. 3 cupAll purpose flour
  8. 1 tspbaking powder
  9. 1/4 tspsalt
  10. 1 cupsour cream
  11. 2 ozRed food color

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 350°

  2. 2

    Cream together Crisco, eggs, vanilla, sugar

  3. 3

    Blend in vinegar, cocoa & red food color

  4. 4

    Mix together flour, salt & baking powder

  5. 5

    Add one cup of flour mixture & mix 1 minute

  6. 6

    Next add cup of sour cream, mix one minute

  7. 7

    Add last cup of flour & mix until everything is blended - scrape down sides of bowl

  8. 8

    Grease & flour a bundt pan. Add mixture & bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes depending on oven

  9. 9

    Remove from oven & let cool for 10 minutes

  10. 10

    Invert onto cake plate. Once cool, drizzle with cream cheese frosting

  11. 11

    Frosting: Mix together 1 stick of butter, 1 block of cream cheese, 1 box of powdered sugar & 2 tsp of vanilla extract. Pecans optional.
