Navratri Ashtami is incomplete without sooji halwa. Here is an attempt to make it interesting in colour and taste .
Steps

Heat a heavy bottomed pan. Add ghee and sooji. Keep the flame on medium.

Keep stirring it for 15 minutes.Add half of the chopped dry fruits and continue stirring it.

Soak saffron and food colour in separate bowls with little milk.

Add milk to the fried sooji. Mix it well so that there are no lumps.

Add sugar and cardamom powder. Cook till sugar is dissolved completely.

Add food colour and saffron milk.mix it well

Remove in a serving dish and sprinkle remaining dry fruits..
